Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 22, 2026
This policy explains what information San Diego Meditation Center collects when you visit our website or contact us, how we use it, and what choices you have. We try to keep it short, plain, and honest. We recognize that meditation is often a personal practice, and visitors may be exploring it for reasons they prefer to keep private — so we collect only what we need to respond and schedule, never share contact information outside the center's team, and never sell or trade it.
Who We Are
San Diego Meditation Center is a local meditation center operated out of 4411 30th St. Suite 103, San Diego, CA 92116. When this policy says "we," "us," or "the center," it refers to San Diego Meditation Center. You can reach us by phone at 858-886-7363 or by email at sandiegomeditation@gmail.com.
Information We Collect
Information you provide. When you submit our contact form, we collect the name, email address, phone number (if you choose to include it), subject, and message you share with us. When you book a free session through the booking calendar embedded on our site, you provide information directly to our booking partner (see "Third-Party Services" below).
Information collected automatically. We use Umami Cloud, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how visitors use our site. Umami collects anonymized, aggregated data such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate location (country/region), device type, and browser — without setting any tracking cookies and without storing your full IP address. Umami does not build user profiles or share data with advertisers.
Campaign attribution. If you arrive at our site from a link containing UTM parameters (e.g., utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), we temporarily store those values in your browser's sessionStorage. This is a first-party, ephemeral store that clears when you close the browser tab. If you submit our contact form during that same visit, we pass those UTM values along so we understand which outreach efforts are reaching people.
How long we keep it. We retain contact and inquiry information for as long as it's needed to respond and follow up. If you'd like us to delete information we hold about you, email us at sandiegomeditation@gmail.com — see "Your California Privacy Rights" below for the full process.
How We Use Information
- To respond to your questions and schedule sessions
- To follow up with you about sessions, share invitations to events at the center, or include you in occasional updates about meditation if you've contacted us or attended a session
- To understand, in aggregate, how visitors use our site so we can improve it
- To attribute traffic sources to our outreach efforts (flyers, events, referrals)
- To comply with legal obligations where applicable
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it for third-party ad targeting.
If we send you any communication you'd prefer not to receive, you can unsubscribe at any time by replying with "unsubscribe" or emailing us at sandiegomeditation@gmail.com — we honor unsubscribe requests promptly. We do not share your information with other third parties except as described below.
Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of third-party services to run the website and the center. Each has its own privacy policy governing the data it receives:
- Formspree — processes our contact form submissions and delivers them to us as email.
- Umami Cloud — provides the aggregated, cookieless analytics described above.
- Google Maps — renders the embedded map on our contact page. Google may set its own cookies when you interact with the map.
- UniverseMind Events — powers the booking calendar embedded on our site. When you book a session, the information you enter goes directly to UniverseMind (we have not located their public privacy policy; if you have questions about how they handle your booking data, contact us).
- YouTube — hosts the videos embedded across our site. We load these through
youtube-nocookie.comwhere possible to reduce tracking, but YouTube may still set cookies if you play a video.
Cookies and Tracking
We do not set tracking cookies on our own site. Umami analytics is cookieless. The sessionStorage we use for UTM attribution is a first-party, short-lived browser store that is cleared when you close your tab.
When you interact with embedded third-party content — a Google Map, a YouTube video, the booking iframe — those services may set their own cookies under their own domains, governed by their own privacy policies linked above. If you prefer not to load those embeds, most browsers let you block third-party scripts and frames site-wide or per-site.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising. If you would like to confirm this directly or have any questions about how your information is used, email us at sandiegomeditation@gmail.com and we'll respond promptly.
Your California Privacy Rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and related California law, California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions
- Opt out of sale of your personal information — though we do not sell personal information to begin with
- Non-discrimination — we will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any of these rights, email us at sandiegomeditation@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity (to make sure we aren't handing data to the wrong person) and respond within 45 days.
Children's Privacy
Our site and services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, including using reputable service providers with established security practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally — for example, if we add a new service or change how we handle information. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted prominently on the site.
